Merges different formats directly: Double Take offers convenient 3-way format flexibility that will save you a lot of time and hassle. It also removes the danger of losing a field ‘s data when converting structures.

File Format: Files in .DBF, ASCII, or Paradox can be processed directly (without converting to a common file format). Up to 24 files at a time.

Layout Format: Files can have different name, address, CityStZip structures. Uses a simple field mapping screen with intelligent defaulting.

Field Format: Xbase field names and field lengths can be different. Double Take will identify possible problems, prompt you to adjust the output structure, and default to do so.

Multiple Concurrent Matchcodes: Double Take’s exclusive "Concurrent Matching" technology lets you process up to eight matchcodes in a single deduping pass. You will find more dupes faster by running a SET of matchcodes instead of just one. If any one matchcode hits, the records are flagged.

Custom Matchcodes: For special jobs where the supplied matchcodes aren’t quite what you want, you can use ANY parts of ANY fields for a matchcode. Any/All elements of the matchcode can be set for exact matching. Or Any/ All elements of the matchcode can use Soundex,. Or Any/All elements of the matchcode can use "Phonetex" instead of 1917’s Soundex. Phonetex recognizes that certain groups of letters make different sounds. It knows that "ph" is a different critter from "p", and that the "p" in "pterodactyl" or "pneumatic " is silent, etc.

Nicknaming. User-editable nicknaming table. Identifies "Roberta" and "Rbta" as well as alternate spellings like "Gene", "Jean", and "Jeanne".

Inferred Matching. If Double Take finds that Record 1=Record 2 (based on Matchcode 1) and that Record2=Record 3 (based on Matchcode 2), it will deduce that Record 1=Record 3. Double Take’s exclusive Inferred Matching capability will uncover a whole class of dupes you could never see before. If you’re buying "net names", you’ll net new savings!

Bee Smart - Cross Pollinate

You can (optionally) gather and cross pollinate between files. For example, assume that your main input file has Customer Numbers while a second file has phone numbers and a third has social security numbers. You can select which fields you want to disseminate and choose to...

• Enrich master output file and/ or…
• Enrich main input file, or…
• Enrich all files.

Update/ Calculate numeric and date fields. For example, a non-profit’s "Total Contributions" and "Last Gave" field can be updated with contributions from the current campaign

Accumulative "Stacking". For householding, the output file can accumulate up to 5 first names. The same capability lets a non-profit accumulate date and amounts of the last five contributions.

Choose WHAT you want to see:

• Which fields to view, including matchcode (s).
• How much of each field to show.
• What sequence to show the fields.
• Toggle: all records or dupes only.

Choose HOW you want to see:

• Display records vertically or horizontally.
• Hotkey between the two views.
• Select how many records to show per screen.
• Display up to 132 columns by 50 rows.

Output Flexibility

Makes separate output file(s); the input files are not changed unless you cross pollinate. You can select which file(s) to favor when dupes are found based on: the filename, a ranking field, or the most complete record.

List Intersection lets you select only those records which exist in both Files A and B.

List Suppression lets you deselect any name present in a suppress file.

Matchcodes can be saved to a separate file or as part of input/output file -- a great time saver when suppressing records from your company Master or the DMA Mail Preference File.

Output and reject files can be sorted per your specifications and formatted in Xbase, Paradox, and various ASCII types.

Complete Reporting

Dupe Report: Lists duplicate groups for proofing; optionally lists non-dupe records as well.

Processing Summary: How many records from each source were processed, output, rejected, and which dupe matched which source.

List Quality Report: Summary of multi-occurrences and which matchcode was used.

Quality Matrix: Detail of multi-occurrences showing how each file compared with each other file.

All reports have a user-modifiable header so you can make notes about the information being displayed. Reports can be output to printer or ASCII file.

Be Street Smart

Now you can get at the pieces. Other programs do address parsing internally, but Double Take lets you output the street address components in separate fields.

Fixes Zip+4 Blind Spots. Optionally, Street Smart will reformat addresses to maximize success of Zip+4 encoding programs. We looked at problems several Zip+4 programs have and solved many of them in Double Take. Just run your Zip+4 through Street Smart, and now a large percent will hit when you re-run them through your Zip+4 encoder.
