DocFindIt 3.0
 Find
e-mail attachments, Word documents, and Web pages in ACT!
Track down "lost" Word documents and e-mail attachments just by entering
a key word or phrase and pressing the FindIt button. DocFindIt™ does the
rest, searching through the files you have linked or attached to contact records.
After you have found the document you are looking for, you can click once
to see the associated contact record or double click to see the document
itself.
DocFindIt works with virtually any type of plain text document file — Word,
HTML web pages, ASCII text files, even PowerPoint or Excel. DocFindIt even
searches inside ZIP files to find your document!
And now with Version 3.0 you can build a contact group in ACT! with all
of the contacts that had a matching attached file. Great for resume searching!
DocFindIt works ACT! 6.0, 4.0, ACT! 2000 (5.0), Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4,
Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

DocFindIt can search only the documents YOU create, or search all documents.
Great for workgroup environments.
Build a Contact Group
You can build a contact group in your contact manager from the results
or your search. This is a popular feature in recruiting applications where
resumes are linked to contacts records. You can build a new group or add
to an existing group, and you can select some or all of the documents found
as the basis for your contact group.
Search documents in a single contact record, a filter set or an entire
database
You can limit DocFindIt to search only the current contact or a filter
set (a "lookup" in ACT!), or set it to "All contacts" to
search all of your linked/attached documents.
Search for words and phrases
DocFindIt searches for the word(s) you enter individually or as a complete
phrase. Formatting commands or line feeds embedded between words in a phrase
can prevent proper matching; to prevent this from happening, DocFindIt can
search for "All terms" to provide an accurate match without relying
on hidden characters within a complete phrase.
Search inside ZIP files
DocFindIt will search your linked/attached documents, even if the are contained
within zip files!
Search by file type
You can limit DocFindIt to only search the document types you want. Choose
only Word documents, web documents, text files, a combination or all documents.
